重点1: VPN的安全性最重要
很多VPN新手用VPN只是爲了方便换个国外的IP地址去爽，但是忽略了一旦连线到VPN，所有的上网数据都会流经VPN伺服器，所以VPN的安全性十分重要，用不安全的VPN甚至比不用VPN更危险。
VPN的公司背景：中资背景的不要碰
几乎所有的VPN都宣传他们的VPN连线是加密的，可以防止ISP网路供应商监听你的上网。但是没有一家VPN跟你说VPN的加密仅限於你的设备到VPN伺服器之间的连线，数据到了VPN伺服器就会进行VPN解密，因此VPN伺服器端可以像ISP一样，获取到所有你原始的上网数据。提供VPN服务的公司的操守和背景就很影响你用使用VPN的安全性。
在中共的高压网络审查之下，墙内的网路以言入罪情况严重人所皆知。如果你用到一个有“国家任务”在身的中资VPN（通常是贪免费），即使你人在墙外，也无端端就把自己的上网隐私拱手给国家审查。所以，有任何中资关联怀疑的，小U都不会推荐给大家。
既然VPN供应商的权力这麽大，面对中文英文网域这麽多的VPN提供者，应该怎麽选择安全的呢？小U主要有以下几个方面选择：
VPN的无记录政策和安全记录审核
NO-LOG Policy 无记录政策是指VPN提供商承诺不会保存记录用户的上网数据流。
保存用户的上网数据流有什麽意义？有不少免费的VPN就是靠贩卖上网数据流来变现赚取收入。小U之前就报道过（链接），有的免费VPN提供商不仅记录了海量TB级的VPN用户数据流，还被骇客入侵偷取了，使用了这些VPN的用家只能自求多福。所以必须选择NO-LOG VPN。
而且最好不要单信VPN公司的口头承诺，要看VPN有没有提供独立第三方审核，技术上有没有实施RAM-ONLY缓存式伺服器。（链接後补：无记录VPN如何选择）
安全记录往迹
选择有些年资的VPN，除了可以检视他的口碑，还可以看他过往有没有发生过泄密事件，有没有在政府的要求下提供用户资料。例如，声称不会记录用户资料的PureVPN就在一个法庭案子中，被法院要求提供某个嫌疑人的上网记录，PureVPN就竟然拱手进贡了（下注链接）。事件被曝光後PureVPN遭到很多VPN用户唾弃，不久之後IvacyVPN就成立了，被起底发现两家的关联甚深，怀疑是用来洗白的品牌。
重点2: VPN的提供的连线位置
筛选掉不安全的VPN後，我们就要选择一个VPN适合自己的使用习惯的。VPN能提供给自己最常用连线位置的服务器选择很重要。我们连线VPN通常有两种情况：
例如，你经常连线香港、台湾和日本的，就要选择一个在这三个地方都有不错VPN伺服器性能的VPN服务商。针对热门连线目的地的VPN选择，小U有文章特别分析：
还要留意有的VPN在你需要连线的目的地是否只提供虚拟位置伺服器，虚拟伺服器的IP是在当地但是物理伺服器是在别的地方，例如PIA（Private Internet Access）爲香港和台湾提供的伺服器物理位置都在星加坡。虚拟位置伺服器连线延迟会有影响，虚拟伺服器的IP定位通常也会比在地有物理伺服器的差。但有的VPN不会在连线列表中清楚写出，这种情况小U就要做更多功课，不能尽信VPN声称的“能连线到XX个国家”。
除了有和没有的零和问题，还要考察VPN伺服器的质量，这就引申到第三个重点：伺服器性能。
重点3: VPN的伺服器性能
VPN伺服器的快慢和延迟直接的影响你的VPN连线体验。没有人想连线到一个看视频变成看圈圈转的慢速WIFI，同理也没有人会想买入一个龟速VPN。小U是如何评价VPN的伺服器质量的呢？我主要靠实际测试获得的数据：
VPN的连线速度
小U会在连线VPN後，用最多人用的Speedtest.net 进行实际网速测试，重点测试连线VPN後的下载速度和网路延迟。对於我本人主力推荐的VPN，我还会进行每日速度测试，务求确保推荐大家的VPN都是性能最好的。
VPN的伺服器数量
有的VPN提供商喜欢吹嘘自己有多少千台伺服器，但一台高配伺服器的性能就抵上十台低配。单纯吹嘘VPN伺服器的数量而不谈质量是没有意义的。反而上面说到的连线速度更爲重要。
VPN的IP地址池数量
你有没有试过连线VPN之後，上网经常被误判爲机器人BOT，要你频繁的选汽车、选斑马线证明你是人类？因爲VPN的IP是用家共享的，如果VPN爲一个国家提供的IP池数目有线，当连线用家多的时候就越有可能被误判或甚至被封锁。IP池数量可以单纯比数量大小的，几乎所有VPN都没有告诉你台湾有多少个IP，香港有多少个IP。小U未有用最原始的暴力穷举法，不断的重连把VPN的IP地址都洗出来： VPN深度研究 | IP地址池监测：IP数目、变动、规律等
通常来说，IP地址池数目较多，而且经常更新的VPN较爲不容易被针对VPN IP的封杀。如果你十分需要一个属於自己的专属IP，可以考虑自建VPN伺服器或者加购某些VPN提供「专属IP」Dedicated IP 服务，那样你就有属於自己、不会和别人共享的IP地址。（後补：专属IP VPN怎麽选择）
重点4: 是否需要VPN翻墙？
如果你人在墙内，需要翻墙，那很不幸事实很残酷，绝大多数在能Google到的大牌子VPN都不能稳定翻墙。因爲大陆网警只要简单的逆向工程，就能把VPN的伺服器IP地址都洗出来一一封锁，非匿藏式VPN例如IKEV2, OpenVPN和WireGuard更是能直接一刀砍，技术含量之低连小U都会操作。
因此能提供翻墙的VPN服务都是猫捉老鼠般运营，有的挂羊头叫“加速器”，有的就不断换名字。哦，有一个例外：就是有“国家任务”在身的VPN提供商，是可以光明正大的提供稳定的翻墙服务。这种中资VPN有什麽问题小U在 「重点1」 已经说过了，你懂的。
技术上，「正规」的VPN连线协议的并没有设计到很强的匿藏性。翻墙专用的“VPN”严格来说叫SOCKS Proxy （SOCKS代理）。利用WireShark抓取VPN和Socks Proxy的数据流能很明显的发现两者在匿藏能力上的区别，以及明白爲什麽GFW可以轻易封锁大多数「正规」的VPN连线。如果你需要长期的在国内翻墙，小U有两个方案：

重点5: 使用特定APP的能力
有70%以上的VPN用家是爲了跨区到某个国家，使用特定APP、观看某个平台的传流视频（NETFLIX、HBO、Disney etc.）、玩那个地方游戏，而开啓VPN连线到那个国家的伺服器。除了要事先查看VPN有没有这个国家的VPN连线选项，还要测试那个游戏或串流平台有没有封锁那个VPN的IP。例如NETFLIX 就是主动封杀VPN用户的“佼佼者”：

重点6: VPN的高级和附加功能
”用VPN不就是转换个IP吗？有什麽高级功能？“ 购买「商业成品」的VPN和自建VPN的很大区别是「商业成品」的VPN通常会附带各种实用和不实用的附加功能，例如：
部分VPN还提供广告封锁服务，专用IP Dedicated IP，Nord VPN的虚拟局域网MeshNet，Surfshark的防毒AntiVirus，Proton VPN的TOR over VPN洋葱网络VPN等等。这些VPN附加功能未必人人有用，也不是越多越好，有的不是免费附带、要加钱才有。如果某个功能特别适合你的VPN需求，那就要重点考虑加分。
重点7: VPN的操作易用性和友好性
自建VPN的超级繁琐步骤你体验过吗？幸好现在「商业成品」的VPN 相比之下实在简单易用，进化至今几乎都是一键安装，一键连线的无脑操作。多数VPN的主页面就让你选择连线到哪个国家的VPN伺服器，点下去就连上：
但是在VPN软件和APP的UI/UX设计的细节上，不同家VPN的出品还是有很多细节差别，例如：
不过话说回来，如果你是轻度的VPN用家，这些操作上的细节对你的影响不大，不会看上去就不舒服就好。
重点8: VPN的售价
网路上能Google到的VPN有上百个，不同的VPN价钱有便宜有贵。百货应百客，每个VPN能在竞争中生存，都说明他们的定价和策略是成效的。如果你要小U按感觉给个大约，我认爲 $2~$4 USD 一个月 已经能购入主流大牌VPN、能够满足大多数用家的VPN需求。贵过5美金的VPN就有点利用消费者”越贵越好“的心理，低於1美金月费的VPN在今天的网路成本很难做到有质量。

重点9: VPN的退款政策
撇开各种参数和测试，VPN的亲身的使用体验也很重要，尤其是上文的「重点5」说到的，不同的VPN在不同APP或串流平台上的有不同适配性。不少VPN购买长年期的订阅计划价钱最实惠，但是怎麽可以保证自己买到的是最适合自己？小U教你一招可以零成本地测试：
很多VPN都没有提供免费试用，因爲很容易被滥用（例如不断用新邮箱获取试用）。取而代之的是提供“不满意退款期”，最常见的是30日内不满意可以申请无条件退款。绝大多数情况下，30天足够你测试连线VPN来用自己常用的APP、游戏或者串流平台的表现。如果发现不满意，就可以在期限内退款，这让大家可以从便宜试到贵，不需要多花无谓的金钱在VPN订阅上。
